annnnddd I'm back

Alright now i don't really believe in those bullshit things called new years resolutions but I realized a few days ago that I had once upon a time started a blog and am resolving to start blogging again (this is not a new years resolution, just coincidental that it is the new year and I am resolving to do something...i swear). Now I don't feel too bad about this since I don't think anyone reads my blog anyway, save for my parents (sorry for the swearing) and maybe my grandma (shout out- hey grandma!) She probably doesn't mind the swearing, shes kind of a bad-ass grandma, and I mean that in the absolute best way possible.

Okay resolution number two: find a focus for this blog. If that first paragraph is any indication about my blogging habits, I don't really have a theme and this is all sort of stream of consciousness posting here. I'll have to work on that, but for now its slightly therapeutic.

I hope that everyone who is reading this (wishful thinking) had a great holiday season. New years eve this year was spent with the bf on the couch drinking champagne and (drum roll please..)watching a Surviorman marathon. I'm not sure if it gets any more sad than that, but dammit it was relaxing and I wasn't forced to prance around in the 10 degree weather in a dress and heels., which is always a bonus.

Newyears day however was a different story. Steve talked me into heading down to the beach and participating in 'The Polar Bear Plunge'. This is when a few hundred crazies decide to strip down to the swimsuits in january and go for a little swim, e.i. running into the water dunking your head under and running like hell back out. Although in my case it went a bit mroe like this:
jumped down from the snow/ice ridge into the water, running as fast as I could baywatch style until I could run no more, diving under the water and coming up for air feeling like i had the wind knocked out of me. I then proceeded to try and "run" back to shore, realizing halfway there that my legs had stopped working properly and faceplanted back into the foot-deep water. Luckily steve was there with a helping hand, not even trying to stifle his laughter by the way, and we ran our numb bodies back up to our pile of clothes. Resolution number 3: Next year I plan on bringing clothes that take absolutley no dexterity (fingers, arms, brain etc.) to put on when my body is on strike after I pluged it into the depths of lake michigan...well all three feet of it anway.

Hope everyone is successful with their 'whenever resolutions' and has a happy, heathly, new year. Peace to all.
